Susan Jane McGrew Carnes, 63, of Good Hope, IL passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at her residence. She was born on December 21, 1960, in Avon, IL to James Arthur and Elizabeth Ann (Whisler) McGrew. She married Joey Dean Carnes on March 24, 1979, in Bushnell, IL; he survives.
Also surviving are three children Benjamin Joe (Jessica) Carnes of St. Johns, FL, Elizabeth Suzanne (Eliza) Mast of Marquette Heights, IL, Joshua Adam (Katrina) Carnes of Murphysboro, IL; five grandchildren: Dominic Jaeden Walker, Brecken William and Lillie Ann Mast, and Brianna Mae and Lance Jameson Carnes; three siblings Judith Ann (Charles) Taylor of Virginia, IL, James Daniel (Beth) McGrew of Prairie City, IL and Donald Ralph McGrew of LaVernia, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Susan graduated from Bushnell High School in 1979 where she served as Freshman Class Treasurer, Basketball Manager as a Junior and Senior, and participated in Band, Girls Chorus, Concert Choir, Pep Band, Yearbook CEO
