Larry L. Plate, 87, of Macomb, Ill., formerly of Adair, passed away at 11:53 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2024, at the Lamoine Senior Living Center in Macomb.He was born on Oct. 18, 1936, in Fulton County, to Lloyd and Nona Onion Plate. He married Alice Schleich on Aug. 23, 1952. She survives.Also surviving are his children, Patsy (David) Leezer of St. Charles, Mo., Larry Joe Plate of Niota, and Rose (Randy) Scheetz of Carthage; 11 grandchildren, Susi Plate (Nick Swartz) Boyles, Jamie Plate Boyles, Chris Plate, Jared (Brandy) Plate, Joshua (Melissa) Plate, Elizabeth (Andy) Pilkington, Nathan (Savannah) Leezer, Krista (Justin) Carle, Lezley (Nick) Anderson, Paul Scheetz and Dan (Bethany) Scheetz; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Janice Nelson of Tacoma, Wash.He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steve Plate; one granddaughter, Shelly Plate Boyles and one brother, Norman Plate.Larry farmed for over 50 years in Hancock, McDonough and Fulton
