Norma Jean "Jeanie" Thompson, 83, of Marietta, IL passed away on Sunday June 23, 2024 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. She was born on February 23, 1941 in Marietta to William and Vada (Postin) Havens. Jeanie married Roland "Gene" Thompson on July 25, 1959 in Smithfield, IL; he preceded her in death on April 4, 2012.
Surviving are two children Roland "Tug" (Nita) Thompson of Vermont, IL, Alice (Steve) Smith of Decatur, AL, seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, brother Ronnie Havens of Tennessee, IL, sisters Birtie Winters of New York, Shirley Grahm of Cuba, IL, Sara Stehl of Marietta.
Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, eight siblings, Alice Head, Betty English, Bill Havens, Frank Havens, Wilma Virag, Jim Havens, Susie Benham, and Bob Havens.
