Rodney D. Bricker, 93, of Bushnell, Illinois passed away at 9:28 am on Sunday May 27, 2024 at the OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL. He was born February 16, 1931 in Bushnell, IL to Leo and Zelma Bricker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Dorothy Chewning, two brothers, Robert and Leon Bricker, nephew Jim Inman and great-nephew Kevin Capps.
He is survived by one sister-in-law Margo Bricker of Woodstock, GA and several nieces and nephews.
Rodney graduated from Bushnell High School in 1949. After high school, he worked at Vaughan & Bushnell before enlisting in the military in 1951. Rodney was a Corporal in the Army National Guard who served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. Rodney then attended Western Illinois University, graduating in 1959 with a Bachelors of Science in Education. He taught at Knoxville High School and Carl Sandburg College until his retirement.
Rodney was a life member of T.J. Pickett Lodge #307 and the 279th Infantry
