Davie Lee McCoy, 82, of Macomb, Illinois, passed away at 5:00 PM Thursday May 2, 2024 at his residence
He was born Oct. 31, 1941 in Macomb, Illinois to David and Beatrice (Owens) McCoy.
He is survived by his daughters, Rosemarie (Larry Dunn) McCoy of Blandinsville, Illinois, Margaret (Todd) Knox of Colchester, Illinois; a brother, Jerry McCoy of Lewistown, Illinois; a sister, Rose Geer of Gillette, Wyoming; several grand and great grandchildren; and his sweetheart, Diana Ward.
He was preceded in death by his son David Dean McCoy, brothers, Bud McCoy, Bert and John Whalon and Bud Steele, a sister, Beverly Kreps.
He served in the US Navy from 1959-1963. He worked on the Grounds Crew at Western Illinois University for 30 years.
Davie's passion in life was art, he loved to paint and sculpt, winning several awards and ribbons. He loved to garden and create one-of-a-kind bonsai trees and was a lifelong hunter.
